The Good News Line
The hard stuff gets told. The victory laps get told.
The part where you are just living almost never does. That part is most of your life.
An ordinary Tuesday. Five full nights of sleep. Eggs, and the whole story of them.

The hard stuff gets told. The victory laps get told. The quiet middle, the part where you are just living, almost never does.
That part is most of your life. It is also the only part nobody is keeping.
Someone cut their own hair. Someone slept five full nights in a row. Someone got a kitchen that respects them. Someone had eggs, and told the whole story of it.
These are the moments. Small, unannounced. They are the actual evidence that something is going right, that a life is being made and not only survived.
That is what “good news” means here. Not that everything is fine. Something real and good is happening in a moment most people would walk past.
There is bigger news here too. A brother’s cancer, gone. A first week out of prison. A first birthday without the friend who used to share it, and thanks given anyway.
Before there was a phone on a sidewalk, there was a voice note. I left one place for another, and somewhere in working out which parts of me were fear and which were curiosity, I started noticing everyone else doing it too.
Someone should be paying attention to it. That is what this is.
If you have one of those moments, the phone is waiting.
These recordings are never used to train AI models. Not ours, not anyone’s.
We write out every message so it can be read and searched, and a person checks each one against the tape. Any software we use runs on our own computer. Nothing leaves our hands.
The titles on the shelf are the speakers’ own words, shortened. We don’t put words in anyone’s mouth.
One person reads it. We use it to write back about the phone, never sell or share it, and delete it within a year. Want it gone sooner? Write to us and it goes.
Every machine keeps one. This site notes which recordings get played and where the controls confuse people. No cookies, no accounts, nothing that identifies you.
The switch marked LOG on the front turns it off, and we remember that you said no.

Want the phone on your street?
Times shift with weather and permits. The map is always current.
Map opens in a new tab so the tape keeps rolling.
Open in MapsTell us how you want to connect. A real person reads every message, and we’ll write back within a week. No queues, no automated replies.
A person reads every one of these. We will write back within a week.
Thank you for even thinking about it.
With money
Anything you give keeps the phone on the road and this site running, and gets it to neighborhoods we couldn’t reach on our own.
Your coin’s in. Here’s a voice from the line —
Give once, whatever feels right. You won’t hear from us about money again.
Without money, even better
The line runs on rides, lobbies, and introductions more than dollars.
Every message is heard by a person before it reaches the shelf. That never changes, funded or not.
